Fallcon, The Twin Cities biggest and best comic convention is this weekend! Come and hang out with us in the “Conspiracy Lounge” to doodle and shoot the breeze.
FALLCON
October 10 & 11, 2009 – 10AM to 5PM Both Days
Minnesota State Fairgrounds
IN THE GRANDSTAND
Hope to see you all there!
December 27th – January 2nd will be….LOCAL COMICS WEEK!
Diamond Distribution, the biggest (and pretty much only) comics distributor will be taking a long winter’s nap that week and will not be shipping new comics…leaving comic fans without their weekly fix.
But not to worry, because as with a lot of comics, there are heroes to count on! Those heroes, ladies and gentlemen, are US!
We will create and sell our own comics and provide the city with comic books and save the planet once and for all!Â
Here’s the plan:  Big Brain Comics has generously allowed the Conspiracy to take over their New Release racks for the week. Customers who are looking for their weekly comics will be introduced to the world of local comics.
Here’s the info: If you want to participate, have 20 copies of a mini comic printed by DECEMBER 3RD. You can bring your comics to the jam that month or you can arrange to have them mailed to me by contacting me at bob (at) uptowngirlcomic.com. The mini comic should have a cover price of $3.  Consignment details are still being worked out.Â
The comics will be delivered to Big Brain on December 28th
and will go on sale the next day on December 30th (new comic day!)
The comics will be on sale until January 5th.  Any money made will be able to be picked up January’s jam on the 7th.Â
Â
If you want to participate, please contact me by NOVEMBER 15th.Â
Thanks to Kevin Cannon for creating the logo for the event!
If you haven’t yet seen the Comicopolis show… you’ll be happy to hear that it’s run has been extended until October 15th!

We have some volunteers for Fallcon this year, but we could definitely use some more. We’re planning to have a “Conspiracy lounge” again this year. Ideally, we would like a minimum of two people to be in the lounge at all times during the convention. It is a pretty casual and fun affair, and a good opportunity to get to know some of your fellow cartoonists better. We also need some comfy couches and chairs, if you can bring them. If you can volunteer or provide weekend furnishings for the lounge, please contact me at:
Thanks much!
Here’s a little something to read during the halftime show of tonight’s Vikings/Packers game:
Old Testament Stories Presents: India… To the Moon!!!

Well, some of us are still drawing here in San Francisco at Comic Outpost with one finished comic and unfinished comic exiting all ready. 7 artists are striving to finish their work. We still five hours to go and we are all in for the long hall.
We will post links through out the next few weeks when the final results come online.
If you want to see photo of the Mission: Comics jam, visit Doc Pop’s flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/docpopular/sets/72157622511923512/
We have 9 artist drawing.
More to come.
Hey all, with 24 Hour Comic Book Day just three days away, I wanted to encourage folks in the area to come and out and visit the artist as they are hard at work. We are close to having a full house of artist at both locations, so it should be a pretty amazing year for drawing comics with very little sleep. Below is all the information on how to either a) Visit in person or b) Visit virtually
Saturday October 3, 2009 – Sunday October 4, 2009 from 11:00am Saturday – 11:00am Sunday
Both stores will be open for business the entire time!

If you like spelling bees, then you’ll LOVE this hefty 24-page comic book:
Pork Raised Responsibly, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Licking Pigeons, and Other Doomsday Scenarios: Things That Fit on a Bus, But Shouldn’t

That’s right! Conspirator Erik Nelson is a Master Plumber by day–Conspirator, creator of the comic WALKABOUT, MANLY TALES OF COWARDICE: GUEST ARTIST SPECTACULAR and BIG FUNNY contributor by night.   And now he’s “THE FACE!” of Dickies Work Clothes. Well…not THE face, but A face in a new commercial. It’s a pretty great ad. My favorite bit is the Zach Snyder-esque closing shot. ENJOY THE COMMERCIAL HERE.
