First Annual Cartoonist Conspiracy Comic Book Swap this Sunday in Minneapolis

I’m having an old-fashioned comic book swap in my back yard this Sunday from 1-3PM. Bring stuff you want to trade and let’s have some fun.

Please bring these varieties of things for trade:

-Comic books
-Books of comics
-Original comic art
-Cartooning-related art supplies
-Other comics or cartooning-related things

Please do not bring anything to trade that has no relation to comics or cartooning.

No money allowed… we are operating strictly on barter, as it is more fun.

I’ll also have a good fairly large CRT computer monitor for free to the first person who can haul it away.

If you don’t know where I live and want to participate, please email me for more info:

Also, don’t forget about the Arty Garage Sale at Altered Esthetics on Saturday from 8-2PM.

24 HOUR COMIC DAY is Oct 2nd!

From the official Conspiracy 24 Hour blog:

This year’s Minneapolis 24-Hour Comic Day will be held at Minnesota Center for Book Arts on Washington Avenue near the Humphrey Metrodome. It’s right down the street from Big Brain Comics, Grumpy’s Bar and the Guthrie Theater.

We will be at MCBA from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3.   Sign-up on our Facebook page, or by contacting us at 24hourcomicday@gmail.com

7000 BC at Bubonicon 42

Bubonicon 42 | Friday, August 27-Sunday, August 29 | The Albuquerque Grand (Sheraton) Airport Hotel| Albuquerque, NM

Once again, 7000 BC is happy to be a part of the annual science fiction and fantasy convention Bubonicon. We’ll be in the dealers room next to Jamie.

In addition to our table of comics from the group, Chuck will be leading a panel Friday evening at 7:30 on our comic convention proposal; Paul, Pete, Jamie, and Bram will present the Comics Collaboration panel Saturday morning at 10:00; and Jeff will share his theatrical set design experience Sunday morning at 10:00.

We’ll also continue our tradition of creating another live rat drawing — to be raffled off on Sunday night, with the winner to be drawn as the final rat; tickets available at the table.

ENL Book 1 – buy it!

THE BOOK IS FOR SALE

EX NOVO LIBRIS BOOK 1

At long last, the first half of the epic is in its final printed version. This includes all 6 issues of my first comic book ever, which I started in high school. If you missed where Maxeem came from, this is a good starter. If you are already a fan/nemesis, here is an opportunity to get a personal copy and study my bizarre thought process!

Come by my little station at MIX to hold, touch and smell a copy of the book in person.

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam! This Thursday, August 19th, 2010!

Although this week’s jam is coinciding with tonight’s Precious Little Film Festival, there will still be a jam for those that show up. Paper will be supplied and can be obtained by the barista after 5:30 PM.

Join the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell and create a jam comic at Cahoots Coffee! This locale provides us with not only a spacious room in the back of the shop, but also they have tasty mediterranean food for sale!

The jamming is easy and it’s a fun time! Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage or some chow — don’t forget to tip, the baristas really do appreciate that!

The jam will start promptly at 6:30 and run until 10:30 at the latest. Come earlier to reserve your space! Seating can be limited at times!

The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results will be posted here at some date yet to be determined.

To join us come to:
Cahoots Coffee
1562 Selby Ave
St Paul, MN 55104
(Southeast corner of Snelling and Selby)

More not than often we head on over to grab a brew at:
O’Gara’s Bar and Grill
164 Snelling Ave N
St. Paul, MN 55104
(Right next to Cahoots!)

Bus info here.

Hope to see you there!

Artists wanted

John Rogers — amusing blogger and professional writer (in comics: “Blue Beetle,” “Zombie Tales,” on TV: “Leverage” and “Jackie Chan Adventures,” in the movies: “Transformers,” “Catwoman,” “The Core”) — is looking for some help. Here’s the post:

Artists Wanted

Yes, I’m about to do something magnificently stupid. In preparation, if you’re a comic artist looking to do a 6-8 page story that might turn into something more, let’s see some links in the comments. Individual artists, studios, what have you. And tell your friends.

[Note: Please go over to John’s blog and leave your info there.]
