August Meeting and Comics-making Workshop | Saturday, June 1 | 1:00-3:00 | Warehouse 21 | Santa Fe, NM

The August 7000 BC meeting will be held at Warehouse 21 and combined with a comics-making workshop. We’ll begin around 1:00 (so that anyone coming from Albuquerque can take the Rail Runner) with the basics, and then move on to getting participants creating their comics with assistance from the group. Around 3:00 we’ll head out for food, probably to Second Street Brewery.

The workshop is free and new members are always welcome. Send an email with any questions.

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam! This Thursday, July 16th, 2009!

Join the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell and create a jam comic! It’s easy and fun! Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage — the baristas really do appreciate that.

The jam will start promptly at 6:30 and run until…whenever.

The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results are posted here sooner rather than later.

The deadline for little funny is on the 20th… so you have less than a week to get yours in. Which is probably not a big deal, as it will probably only take you one evening of fun to get an issue together.

little funny, again, is a series of micro-comic booklets authored by anyone who wants to do one that will be sold out of a vending machine at the BIG FUNNY opening. It is easy, fun and inexpensive to participate… and all entries will be accepted. You can read all of the details about the project here.

All participants in little funny will be listed on the BIG FUNNY website, and we’ll eventually have scans of all the covers posted there as well.

Some people have been confused by the instructions… I tried to clarify them some more in the text. Additionally, here is a photo of two copies of little funny #8 by James Powell (the front of one and the back of the other).
