The Philadelphia cell of the Cartoonist Conspiracy is having it’s first meeting on Tuesday, November 27th @ 8pm!
It will be held at Skinner’s (226 market st.). It’s a location with a lot of table space, so it should be perfect for our needs.

Some or most of the comics (depending on how many we end up producing) will be made into a book which I’ll pass out at the next meeting.

So come if you’re in the area; all you have to do is bring a pen or two and draw!

Saturday Open Studio, Turkey Day +2

Please join us at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts for cartooning and conversation. If you can’t find us in the MCBA building, ask the friendly person working in the bookstore. Work off that Thanksgiving meal! This is an open studio for all cartoonists, so come and hang out and draw. There’s plenty of room.

Just a reminder to you that anyone who participated in 24 HOUR COMICS DAY here in Minneapolis–whether theyfinished 24 pages or not–whether they did it at BookArts or Mcad or home–is full encouraged to print upthere books and put it in the box.

We will be collating our minis and distributing them at the DECEMBER 6th meeting of the MINNEAPOLIS CONSPIRACY at Diamonds Coffee Shop(1618 Central Ave NE, MPLS).

The meetings start at 6:30 and we hope to begin collating soon there after. Please try to be there no later than 8pm if you wish to join in and make sure you get a copy of your book in every box.

Please print up 100 minis at a size no bigger than a 8.5 x 5.5 (a sheet of paper folded in half).

If you cannot attend the Dec 6th meeting, you areencouraged to either send your stuff with someone whocan, or drop it off in advance with Kevin and Zander at Big Time Attic.

They ask for the follwing if the ‘drop-off’ method is taken:

1) Label your box: – Name – Title of mini-comic – email address

2) Drop off at BTA during normal business hours. Address: 1618 Central Ave NE, #216, MPLS

3) Good idea to call before you drop, in case we’reout of the office. Phone: 612-521-7423

I will then make sure anyone who drops there stuff offin advance gets a box(in the case of MCAD people, I’llprobably get their boxes to MCAD organizer Sean Lynch and have him distribute).

Hey there,

This month’s meeting will take place TODAY from 5-7:00 pm at the Rice Print Shop and will be followed by the Burning Twig Festival bonfire at Vas’s place. None of the regulars will be able to make it on Saturday, so we apologize for the inconvenience with this sudden change of schedule.

Other News: December’s meeting will be canceled due to Vas being in Puerto Rico, Loki being insanely busy at the farm with equipment maintenance. Gypsy being in Minneapolis, Misty being car-free and Naomi being busy.

As of January 2008, The Rice Cartoonist Conspiracy meeting will change to a new time, and stay put at the same place, kind of. Meetings will take place from 6:30 pm to whenever the last person leaves, on the second Thursday of the month. Same fresh Pizza from Twin Pines and Jerry’s. Meetings will remain at the Rice Print Shop/VAS Littlecrow Studio building at 310 Division Street South in Rice, MN, but the meetings will return to the original and far more spacious 2nd Floor Space.

The local tv show ACCESS TO ART came and filmed and interviewed on Oct 20th while we were doing 24 HOUR COMICS DAY at the MN Center For Book Arts.

It will be on TV Tuesday evenings at 8:30 PM and Saturdays at 9:00AM and 6:30 PM on Minneapolis Cable channel 17.

We will be putting together our boxes of 24 HOUR MINI-COMICS at the December 6th meeting of the Cartoonist Conspiracy.
You DO NOT need to have finished all 24 pages in order to participate.
All you’ll need to bring is 100 copies of your stuff in mini-comic form
(booklets no bigger than 8.5″x5.5″).
