CCSF – ‘Graphic Novel’ art show opening in San Francisco

Note: the “Graphic Novel” art show which had it’s opening on Saturday (dec. 8th) was supposed to be up until jan. 4th, but a few “things” came up and the show had to be taken down. not that big of a deal, we had an awesome opening and were welcomed warmly by the people of frog hall. so for any of you out there who were planning on heading over to see the work, sorry you’ll have to wait until we are able to get the work up in another location…possibly some time after the new year. also i will be posting pictures of opening night on here as well as my myspace pages. thanks again to the staff of frog hall for having us and to everyone who came out to support us and the SF cartoonist conspiracy group.

"SON OF A BITCH!!!!" or "Come to Diamonds THURSDAY"

I DID IT AGAIN!!!!!

So…Steve asked me if I’d take over posting about the monthly jam since I’m “responsible” and “wouldn’t wait until the last minute” to post this.
…yeah….so just pretend its like Monday and not the day before the jam…

The Minneapolis Cartoonist Conspiracy meets at 6:30 until 10:00 the first Thursday of every month at Diamond’s Coffee Shoppe in Northeast.

Generally, we draw collaborative “jam” comics, socialize and drink caffeinated beverages. Afterwards, we often(sometimes) have uncaffeinated beverages somewhere else.
The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results are posted on our website sooner or later(later) and sometimes even printed(…well…).

In the back hallway.
If there are D&D nerds there they spook easily so tell’em to skeedaddle.

Bus info here.

Please spend some money at Diamond’s while you’re there, even if it is just a cuppa coffee… they are excellent hosts, and we wanna stay welcome there.

Big Time Attic is now officially hosting our monthly jam meetings at Diamond’s… they will be supplying us with a big old plate of pastries or something each month. Thanks fellas!

"Sheep Song" – CCSF

Last night we had a small group for our meeting at the Church St. Café in San Francisco CA. We had a new artist Lori who along with Jeff Plotkin and myself to create a 5 page comic, a very Fenini-esc and strange story. A free form classic jam and a great way to introduce how to make a jam comic with someone new.

Here we go, click on an image to see it bigger.

Zander Cannon Speaking at Wet Paint in St. Paul this Friday

From the Big Time Attic blog:

If you live in the Twin Cities, you know that Wet Paint is the only place in town that sells the legendary Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. Also, if you live anywhere else, you know that wetpaintart.com is the only place in the US that sells it online. Located near Macalester College in St. Paul, it’s the place to be if you want good art supplies and someone knowledgeable to sell them to you.

I’m going to be speaking in the store tomorrow (Friday) evening from 5:30 to 7:30 about comics, art supplies, career advice, and I’ll probably mention the Pocket Brush Pen a few times.

What I won’t mention is that I do most of my drawing on a ream of Office Max printer paper.

Come on by and check it out. Ask me some personal questions. I don’t mind.
