Tomorrow! Mpls Jam and Presentation at Big Time Attic!

I am full aware that everyone is familiar with the scheduled jam at Diamond’s, this is a reminder that before the jam, there will be an (unofficial) Nordeast Comics Summit given by my friend and web guru, Kristiana Hansen!  She will be discussing her RyuZine program which helps to bring comics and other images to different formats!  Anyone who is interested or is already working within the webcomics field should come around and find out more!

The doors open at 6:00 pm!  Come in early to grab a good seat!  A HUGE thank you to Big Time Attic and Kevin and Zander Cannon for use of their facilities!

Presentation At Big Time Attic! (The UN-official Nordeast Comics Summit)

My fellow Conspirators…

My friend and web guru, Kristianna Hansen has been working her fingers to the bone to present to you a new way to present your webcomics, and other comics material in different formats through her “RyuZine” program which she will be presaenting at Big Time Attic on  Thursday, August 2 at 6:00!  Here’s what she has to say about her program:

Ryuzine™ is a page-flipping magazine-style web app targeting both desktop and mobile users.  It uses cutting-edge HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript technologies with no DRM, no apps stores, and no proprietary e-reader required.  Create and deliver digital magazines, newsletters, fanzines, and webcomics through any website across platforms, browsers, and devices.  Publish once, read anywhere.
+ FREE download, add-ons, and themes
+ FREE Authoring webapp
+ FREE Plugin for WordPress integration

Disclaimer: Ryuzine is still “beta” software and may aim to misbehave, but is receiving ongoing fixes and feature additions.  Commercial use requires purchase of a small, one-time license per title.  Funds go to support continued development and improvement of the webapp.
It promises to be a great informative event!  I have seen this program in action, and I think a lot of people would benefit from what Kristi has to share with us!  Come on down before the jam at 6:00pm at Big Time Attic to check it out!

Guesting on My Webcomic

Hey Everyone!

Just to let you know, I am going to be starting to post Guest strips/pin-ups starting this Friday, January 20. You can still get in on the action! If you need a little more time than today (January 15), that’s just fine!

I have seen the submissions so far, and I am blown away by how awesome they look, and I’m really excited to put them up on my website for everyone to see!

If you’d like to get in on the action, send your submission to jsloan28@hotmail.com I will accept JPEG files. Along with the submission, write down a few words regarding your previous and current projects so that I can plug your work.

EXTENDED DEADLINE : January 31st.

Thanks, and hope to see all of you at the jams!

Anyone Interested?

Hi Folks!

Hope everyone had a great New Year’s, and that 2012 is starting off on a good note! Just a reminder…I am still looking for guest strips for my webcomic, www.sa-bomjimcomic.com

If you would like to do a guest strip, please send your submission to me at jsloan28@hotmail.com. I would like to get jpegs, a rough size guideline is that many of my strips are roughly 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Along with your submission, I would like you to send a small writeup of your work so I can plug your site and other projects you have been working on.

I would like to get these on or after Jan. 15.

What I am looking for:

I am just looking for others to do a strip with my characters that doesn’t have to tie in with any of my regular story lines. It can be just a pin-up if you’d like. Just a small word on content…my stuff is generally regarded as “G” to “PG” rated, so if you could please work within that framework, it would be greatly appreciated!

If you have any questions, please reach me at the above email address.

Thanks to whomever can submit a strip. Again, hope 2012 is treating you all very well!

Need A Little Help From My Friends

Hello Everyone!

Jon Sloan here!  I have been asked to be the Comics Guest of Honor at MarsCon, one of the fan run Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions in the Minneapolis Metro area (You can find out more at http://marscon.org/2012/).  To this end I need to devote a LOT of my time to getting things ready for this convention.

I am asking any and all people who would be interested if they would like to submit a guest strip for my webcomic:  www.sa-bomjimcomic.com .  The strips don’t have to have anything to do with my current storyline, but just any type of light-hearted sillyness that involves martial arts and ninjas.  My webcomic has what would be considered a “G” to “PG” rating to it, just to let you know what framework to keep your material in.

WHEN?:  I am hoping to post the guest strips between January 16th through March 2nd, 2012.

HOW MANY?:   I am in need of a total of 14 guest strips.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A GUEST STRIP?:  Please send an e-mail with an attachment of your strip to jsloan28@hotmail.com.  I will accept JPEGs and PSD’s.  If you need to hand off a hard copy, please contact my through my e-mail address and hopefully we can work out an arrangement to get it delivered in time.  If you are a member of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy members, you should be able to get the work to me at one of the jams at Diamond’s Coffee Cafe or Cahoots.

WHEN?:  Preferably before January 15, 2012.

SIZE?:  My published strips are roughly 8.5 X 11 inches.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?:  I will link to your site as well as pass along information about your past and current work (which will be information I will need as well as your submission) when I post your guest spot.  I am all for maintaining community and networking for my fellow cartoonists/comics artists, and this will provide a way (even if it might be small) to spread the word about your work and where people can find it.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable Holiday Season, and Best Wishes for Success and Prosperity in 2012!
