The Cartoonist Conspiracy Now Has a Google+ Page For Some Reason

We now have a Google+ page. Will it be useful and fun, or simply a redundant, annoying, and possibly intrusive waste of time? I guess we’ll find out. At least it isn’t in the gated community of Facebook!

Update: In the comments, Doc Pop, who had his account shut down by Google for using the pseudonym everyone calls him, argues that Google+ is more of a gated community than facebook. Dammit, Doc, can’t we just agree to hate them both?

  1. I’m not a fan of Facebook, but it’s certainly less walled off than Google+.

I was banned from G+ for several months, and so have several of my friends.

That being said, I know that I’m not in the MPLS area anymore, so that doesn’t matter… just had to address the “gated community” line.

  2. Hi Doc! Have you had any luck getting your google account reinstated? They are morons to attempt to force people to use their “real names.” Haven’t they ever heard of stalkers?

You’re right, of course, that they are both walled off. It probably just seems less that way on Google+ to my limited perception because people use it less. I get very frustrated with folks posting links to us that I can’t follow because they are locked away on facebook, and I don’t want a facebook account. I have not yet run into a Google+ link where this was true, but it is probably only a matter of time. Until there is a solution where the user has full control of all their data, all social networking sites are going to be deeply imperfect.

Hope all is great with you, Doc!
