St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam! This Thursday, September 17th, 2009!
Join the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell and create a jam comic! It’s easy and fun! Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage — the baristas really do appreciate that.
The jam will start promptly at 6:30 and run until…whenever.
The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results are posted here sooner rather than later.
To join us come to:

24 Hour Comics Day is an event where cartoonists all over the world
attempt to create their own 24 page comics in 24 consecutive hours.
The San Francisco event is being put together by the San Francisco
Cartoonist Conspiracy and hosted by Comic Outpost and Mission Comics.
If you are interested in taking part in this years event, please email
Doctor Popular at at yoyogenius at gmail dot com with your name and
phone number. Space is limited to 20 seats (per shop), so serious
inquiries only, please. Additionally, we are asking for a $5 fee to
reserve a space, this money goes to the shops to help cover costs.
Artists should bring their supplies, but leave your ideas and
storyboards at home. The goal of creating a 24 hour comic is to push
your boundaries, and learn just how much you can create in just one
day.
We are also looking for any sponsors (pizza, art supplies, etc) and
press. If you can help us out, or would like to take part in the
event, please let us know.
Sat. Open Studio, Sept. 12, noon – 4 p.m.
Join us for drawing and socializing at Minnesota Center for Book Arts. And drawing. You could look at this as a warm-up for the Oct. 3 event at MCBA — 24-hour Comic Day. Or not.
Sat., Sept. 12, noon to 4 p.m., MCBA Bindery (Flexi Space, the metal tables)
If you can’t find us in the MCBA building, ask the friendly person working in the MCBA bookstore. This is an open studio — all are welcome.

you MUST click to enlarge this kick-ass 24 HOUR DAY poster by DANIEL J OLSON (www.bewilderedkid.com/blog)
That’s right!  24 HOUR COMIC DAY is nearly upon us again. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3rd from 10 am until 10am  SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4th (or whenever you get done, whichever comes first).Â
Once again we will be taking over the MINNESOTA CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS to do this, and ALL are encouraged to participate whether you’ve attempted 24 HOUR COMIC DAY before or not–and remember, if 24 hours seem too daunting, you can always try a 4, 8, or 12 hour variation. Whatever you like. The more the merrier. We also collate a box of 24 HOUR COMIC DAY mini-comics a few weeks afterwards, to commemorate the good times. Â
Bring your own art supplies, a treat to share for the “POT LUCK”, and a love of drawing comics.Â
If you’re interested in participating, please drop an email to 24hourcomicday@gmail.com (please note, this is email and the 24-HOURCOMICDAYwebsite are for people participating at the Minneapolis BOOK ARTs location only. Please see the official 24 HOUR COMIC DAY for all other inquiries.)Â
HOPE TO SEE YOU BY 10am ON OCTOBER 3rd! (Get there early and stake out a good spot!)
As always, a THANKS to all our usual sponors:
St. Paul Conspiracy Jam – August 2009
The St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell has, over the last two months, consecutively beaten its own attendance record! We aren’t as big as Minneapolis and definitely don’t have all of the “resources” to “fly in” the stars that our sister does (see David Lloyd appearing at the last Minneapolis jam), but maybe some day “the little cell that could” will shock the hell out of the Twin Cities comics scene. You never know what September might bring, right!?
Anyhow, enjoy August’s jam!
