St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam! This Thursday, September 17th, 2009!

Join the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell and create a jam comic! It’s easy and fun! Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage — the baristas really do appreciate that.

The jam will start promptly at 6:30 and run until…whenever.

The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results are posted here sooner rather than later.

To join us come to:
Cosmic’s Coffee Shoppe
189 Snelling Ave N.
St. Paul, MN 55104
(Northwest corner of Snelling and Selby)

More not than often we head on over to grab a brew at:
O’Gara’s Bar and Grill

(Southeast corner of Snelling and Selby)

Bus info here.

Hope to see you there!

24 Hour Comics Day is an event where cartoonists all over the world

The San Francisco event is being put together by the San Francisco
Cartoonist Conspiracy and hosted by Comic Outpost and Mission Comics.

If you are interested in taking part in this years event, please email
Doctor Popular at at yoyogenius at gmail dot com with your name and
phone number. Space is limited to 20 seats (per shop), so serious
inquiries only, please. Additionally, we are asking for a $5 fee to
reserve a space, this money goes to the shops to help cover costs.

Artists should bring their supplies, but leave your ideas and

Hey hey hey you comic drawing folks…

it’s time for our regular Thursday night comic jam at the Church St. Café, (These jams run the Second and Last Thursday of every month and are easy to get to from public transportation.)

With 24 Hour Comic Book Day coming in a bit less then a month, maybe we could practice and talk about strategies for getting our comics done at the event. Or how about bringing your APE projects in and getting feed back.

The Jam runs from 6:30 on September 10th and all artist are invited to attend. So bring your favorite drawing tools and come on down and draw
a spell. Hey even better bring a friend or two!

Description: The San Francisco cell of the International Cartoonist Conspiracy meets twice a month from on the second and last Thursday of the month from 6:30-10PM
location: Church St. Cafe. 260 Church Street San Francisco, CA 94114

Getting there: I have started a thread on the Google group that we can post ideas on getting to the Jam on MUNI, BART and driving/parking. There is not driving/parking info yet since I do not do that, so if you have some knowledge please go and add it.

That’s right!  24 HOUR COMIC DAY is nearly upon us again.  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3rd from 10 am until 10am  SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4th (or whenever you get done, whichever comes first).

Once again we will be taking over the MINNESOTA CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS to do this, and ALL are encouraged to participate whether you’ve attempted 24 HOUR COMIC DAY before or not–and remember, if 24 hours seem too daunting, you can always try a 4, 8, or 12 hour variation. Whatever you like.  The more the merrier.  We also collate a box of 24 HOUR COMIC DAY mini-comics a few weeks afterwards, to commemorate the good times.

Bring your own art supplies, a treat to share for the “POT LUCK”, and a love of drawing comics.

If you’re interested in participating, please drop an email to  24hourcomicday@gmail.com (please note, this is email and the 24-HOURCOMICDAYwebsite are for people participating at the Minneapolis BOOK ARTs location only. Please see the official 24 HOUR COMIC DAY for all other inquiries.)

HOPE TO SEE YOU BY 10am ON OCTOBER 3rd! (Get there early and stake out a good spot!)

As always, a THANKS to all our usual sponors:

St. Paul Conspiracy Jam – August 2009

The St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell has, over the last two months, consecutively beaten its own attendance record! We aren’t as big as Minneapolis and definitely don’t have all of the “resources” to “fly in” the stars that our sister does (see David Lloyd appearing at the last Minneapolis jam), but maybe some day “the little cell that could” will shock the hell out of the Twin Cities comics scene. You never know what September might bring, right!?

    Anyhow, enjoy August’s jam!

Click image for pdf — an almost too large 8.9 mb!

DAVID LLOYD randomly stops by the Minneapolis meeting…

Yep.  The artist of V FOR VENDETTA stopped in to see what the CONSPIRACY was up to.
