Come learn about the blossoming medium of graphic novels with a renowned editor, who will talk about the history of the art form, current trends, and the future of comics, which are now in their new golden age. Reception to follow!<\/h6>\n

In 2006, Mark Siegel<\/strong> launched First Second Books<\/a> to publish graphic novels with talent from all over the world. In its first year, their release American Born Chinese<\/em> became the first comic ever nominated for a National Book Award, and soon afterwards, the first to win the coveted librarians\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Printz Award. Many beloved cartoonists make up First Second\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stellar author line-up, from Sara Varon to Scott McCloud, Jessica Abel to Paul Pope, Eddie Campbell to Joann Sfar, and many others\u00e2\u20ac\u201dincluding seasoned talents and newcomers, with projects in fiction and non-fiction, for children and for adults.
