Union of Concerned Scientists feature Andy Singer!

Conspirator Andy Singer’s work was just featured as the cartoon of the month in the Union of Concerned Scientists’ e-newsletter “The Pulse.”  Check it out HERE.  Congratulations, Andy!  And way to make a valuable statement about kinds of pollution we often overlook in the summertime, but shouldn’t.  On a related note, how excited are you to try Nice Ride MN, Minneapolis?  The program starts on Thursday.  Read all about it HERE.

If you like this, you might also enjoy the Union of Concerned Scientists’ annual wall calendar which includes 12 editorial cartoons and has featured the artwork of Kevin Cannon in its 2009 and 2010 publications.  Find “Science Idol: The Scientific Integrity Editorial Cartoon Contest” cartoons and purchasing information on the UCSUSA website HERE.

Want to Advertise in BIG FUNNY’s Classified Section?

Congratulations to the nearly fifty artists who made it into this summer’s BIG FUNNY newspaper and gallery show. We had over seventy outstanding submissions and it was very difficult to whittle it down. We usually like to be as inclusive as possible, but for this project the budget and limitations of printing an actual newspaper limited the amount of entries we could accept.

But there’s still a spot for people to get their name in lights: the classifieds!

The newspaper is going to press in a few weeks, and we’re looking for advertisements to throw in our CLASSIFIEDS section in the back of BIG FUNNY. You get 50 words for $20, and all proceeds go to helping the BIG FUNNY show exist — Altered Esthetics Gallery is a community-based nonprofit and can’t exist without your help!

Get all the details here.
Hurry, though — deadline is May 31

Altered Esthetics 5th Anniversary Show This Friday (April 17th) In Minneapolis

Reposting as a reminder… hope to see you all there!

The Cartoonist Conspiracy is immensely fortunate to have found Altered Esthetics gallery to collaborate with. A non-profit, community and artist centered gallery, we have collaborated with them on the Eric Lappegard Benefit and Lutefisk Sushi Volume C, and this Summer we will be working with them to put together Big Funny (submissions due May First!).

Mark your calendars, because next month is Altered Esthetics fifth birthday, and to celebrate they are having a party/art show/fundraiser April 17th!

They are requesting wood-themed art donations for their fifth ‘wood’ anniversary. Find out the details of how you can donate art to them here.

One other very cool way you can contribute is by donating art to be in the Art Vending Machine
… mini-comics seem made for this.

Please consider donating art, and please let them know the Conspiracy sent you!
